A Great End-of-Year for the Guild!

The Guild celebrated the launch of the Fiddlehead Folio with a Literary Extravaganza celebration in partnership with the Writers’ Loft! The Guild also received two grants at the end of the year!

The Guild is deeply grateful for the Writers’ Loft in Hudson, MA for hosting us for our 1st annual Literary Extravaganza and Book Bazaar in celebration of the Fiddlehead Folio, Gnomes & Ungnomes, and all of the MetroWest publications in 2023.

Some 300 people strolled three hallways full of books by over 40 New England writers, illustrators, and artisans on December 2nd! It was a delight to see neighbors greeting neighbors, then leaving with heavy bags and arms full of brand new books! We look forward to doing it again next year!

The first-ever volume of the Fiddlehead Folio, our annual journal, featured 7 Guild authors this year! 40 copies were sold on the 2nd! We sold out! More copies will be made available in January.

Our Literary Extravaganza was supported with a generous grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s Festivals and Projects grant. We are profoundly grateful to the Council for its’ support!

The Guild is profoundly grateful to the Community Foundation for MetroWest for a 2023 Arts & Culture grant in support of our operations and programming!

We are thrilled and grateful to announce that the Guild received a $1250 grant from the Community Foundation for MetroWest, a foundation on a mission to improve the quality of life in the communities of MetroWest. The money from this will be used to continue our work in providing diverse and high-quality programming for storytellers in 2024, including paying honorariums for our instructors and publishing our work through the Fiddlehead Folio and our first-ever anthology.

Having our work recognized by a respected organization like the Community Foundation for MetroWest is a wonderful affirmation that what we do matters and makes an impact in our community. We look forward to using this boost to continue to do what we do best: connecting neighbors through storytelling. We hope to get more our Guild members’ work into the hands of MetroWest readers thanks to this very helpful grant.

Thank you again to all of the grant reviewers and to the decision committee. Thank you, also, to everyone who donates to the Community Foundation for MetroWest and makes their work possible. We are grateful beyond words.

Our 2023 Annual Report is uploaded and ready for you to read!
